SHARING A SMILE AT CHRISTMAS

Today marked the 2017 Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day in the UK a charity that raises money to help protect the most vulnerable children around the world. They give them the opportunity to have a healthy start to life, education and protection from harm. I'm glad my children are aware of how hard life can be for some people, they know that not every child around the world has the opportunity to celebrate Christmas with lots of presents, wearing their best cloths and dinning with their loved ones on Christmas day. They wore their Christmas Jumper to school today with their donation for Save The Children UK and they understand the need to be charitable,to share love and kindness to others always especially during this festive season.

Last year's Christmas was very emotional for my daughter Kamdi. It was around the time she was having Catechism classes in preparation for First Holy Communion. They were asked to put a smile on a child's face by buying a present for a child in need, it made her feel really bad that those kids will not be enjoying all the treats, food and drinks just like she would be on Christmas Day but she was happy we could help in our own little way...a child we do not know would be smiling, we made our mark.

My Elf Life

I've managed to finish my "Elf Job" helping Santa deliver on time...phew! I struggled with the job though as i'm not good with wrapping presents but I did my best and had some useful hacks that helped me along the way. The shopping part of the job was not so easy, walking around the Malls, going from store to store comparing prices and options. Thanks to Argos UK and Marks and Spencer UK for making my shopping experience a bit easier, did some of it online and picked them up in store the next day, very helpful.

I hope you do something nice for someone this Christmas, not just your family, loved ones or colleagues at your work place. Be a light to a dark soul, make someone smile, make it a part of your life not just on Christmas Day. Cheers!

  1. Very nice post. Lovely kids learning the act of giving from their mum. You are a shining star to them. I try and do what I can for the Charity CRISIS. They rally homeless people on Christmas day, have a party for them. They have a bath, news cloths, Christmas presents, they see a doctor etc. I encourage anyone that can to support them do this work as well.

Banana Orange Cake.

This cake was made with love a product of 2020 lockdown. It's being a crazy year so far but I decided I'll stay positive, strong and productive as we wait to see what will come out of year 2020. I'm so happy to share this delicious orange flavour banana cake here. Let me know if you try this recipe, I'm sure you'll love it just like my family and I did x • In making this recipe you have to make sure everything you need is set and ready to go. • Minimal mixing is required to get a good result. • Try NOT to hip the flour in the measuring cup, scooping in the flour into the cup with a spoon and level out the top. • You can use any other oil you prefer but not flavoured oil as this will take away from the take and flavour of the cake after baking. RECIPE. 2+1/2 cups self raising flour.  1/4 cup cornflour.  1 tsp baking powder.  1 tsp baking soda.  1/4 tsp salt. 1 cup caster sugar.  4 very ripe bananas. 3 eggs. 1/2 cup melted butter + 1/2 cup sunflower oil 1 tsp vani...

Cabbage And Pink Salmon Sauce

This easy delicious Sauce is one thing you should try cooking, it is so delicious, full of flavour and ideal for when you are just tired of having Tomato Stew/meat/chicken. I made it with Grilled Chicken for Christmas and just thought to cook it with Sea food which turned out amazing. For this recipe, meal prep is very important. Vegetables have to be chopped, ready to go into the pot as soon as its time as the sauce does not require long cooking time if not the veggies will get overly soft and soggy, you want them crunchy and delicious with the vitamins still intact. Sauce served with White Rice and Plantain Chops Ingredients For Cabbage Sauce 1/2 of 1 Cabbage 3 Large Carrots 1/2 of each (green, red and yellow bell peppers) 2 Scotch bonnets King Prawns 5 Spring Onions 1 Cup water 2 Knorr cubes 1tbs + 1/2tsp Corn flour 1/2 tsp Curry powder 1/2 tsp Thyme 1/4 cup oil (olive oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil anyone) For Grilled Salmon 7 Pieces Pink Salmon Fis...
